 Jackson Heights Cobra Pep Band

The Rockin' Cobra Pep Band is off to a great start!  We have already had 3 performances!  The band is 36 members strong and we have multiple members who couldn't be in class with us due to schedule conflicts.  We appreciate those members stepping up and performing with us at games.
Highlights of class to date are "Friday Speeches" by our very own band president Caleb Sullivan! with an occasional "guest speaker". (or joke teller!)

Other highlights include birthday treats (which

The band will be adding their enthusiasm to PINK OUT! night on October 29 to help the cheerleaders raise awareness of Breast Cancer and prevention.

Pep Band Rocks!!!!

The Jackson Heights High School Pep Band has been "Rockin' the School" since the first day!!!  We have performed for the Fall Pep Rally and the first home football game.  We are preparing to play this Friday once again!  The band plays well together and enjoys the camaraderie of hanging out with other musicians!
There are also members of the band that are preparing to audition for the North East District Honor band in November and this is quite an extensive audition process.
Mrs. Holliday is proud of all the band members and the effort they put forth!

JH Performs for Teacher of the Year Banquet

5 Jackson Heights High School students performed Sunday, September 8 at the "Kansas Teacher of the Year Banquet" in Topeka, Kansas.  Adam Amon, Tara Lierz, Kaitlynn Little, Maggie Rostetter, and Hannah Williams played duets and small ensembles for the banquet at the Topeka Ramada Inn Convention Center.  The students practiced on their own time and performed almost an hour's worth of music for a very appreciative crowd.

High School Band To March In Halloween Parade!

The Jackson Heights High School Band will be "marching" in the upcoming Hiawatha Halloween Parade.  Our band will be trying to retain the title of "Most Enthusiastic Band"  and bring home the "Carol Nigus" award for spirit.  The band has been honing it's band-dancing skills both inside the gym and out on the road (weather permitting).  If you want to see some CRAZY COBRA dancing and hear some GREAT music.....make your way to Hiawatha on Halloween evening.  The parade starts at 7 and there will be candy all over the place!  See YOU there....you won't be able to miss us!
