JH Band Performs at State
The Jackson Heights Concert Band performed at State Large Ensemble in Holton, Ks
on Thursday, April 14. The band performed "Psalm 42" by Samuel Hazo and "Monmouth
Overture" by Michael Sweeney. The over all rating recieved by the band was a II. The band played
well but suffered some problems with intonation that couldn't be over come in the very cold
conditions of the room. We were able to listen to three other bands that day. The experience
overall was a very positive one, ending with ice cream at dairy queen!
